About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Video Systems Engineer to join our Professional Services team.
This role is for someone who deeply understands video systems, enjoys solving non-standard problems, and takes full ownership of delivered solutions - from design to production.
You will work on real customer projects, Proof of Concepts, and custom video solutions that go beyond standard product usage. This is not a product-only role and not a repetitive operations position.
What you will be doing?
Your work will be split across several areas:
- Customer projects (approx. 40%)
- Designing and delivering custom video solutions
- Working directly with customers on complex, non-standard requirements
- Taking responsibility for architecture, implementation, and delivery
- Proof of Concepts & feasibility analysis (approx. 15%)
- Validating technical feasibility for custom video scenarios
- Supporting presales with deep technical expertise
- Helping customers and Sales make informed decisions
- Development of internal video tools and components (approx. 20%)
- Building and improving in-house video solutions used in production
- Prototyping new approaches for live and VOD workflows
- Maintenance, debugging, and support (approx. 25%)
- Debugging complex video pipelines
- Supporting high-availability, business-critical systems
- Acting as a senior escalation point when needed
What we expect from you (must-have):
- Strong understanding of video systems - this is essential
- Hands-on experience with:
- MPEG-DASH and HLS
- Live and VOD video workflows
- Modern video production and processing systems
- Experience working with tools like FFmpeg and/or GStreamer
- Ability to design solutions and then implement them
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash)
- Willingness to work directly with customers
- Strong sense of ownership - you take responsibility for your work and outcomes
- Very good English communication skill
Nice to have:
- Experience with cloud platforms (especially AWS)
- Experience with AWS MediaServices
- Knowledge of DRM technologies (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady)
- Knowledge of on-premise or hybrid video environments
- Familiarity with infrastructure concepts (networking, CDN, Linux)
- Experience with scalable, high-availability systems
- Exposure to Kubernetes or containerized environments
